SUMMER READING PROGRAM KICK OFF: Two Sessions, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

  • Franklin the Tortoise will welcome kids who register early for the Summer Reading Program.
  • Franklin, his owner Paul McCormack, and the rest of Paul’s Classroom Critters will help the library kick off the “Full STEAM  Ahead!“ reading program with two lively sessions of animal viewing at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 12.
  • A wide variety of animals will be shown including Franklin’s friend, Roxanna Banana, an albino Burmese python who is about 14 feet long and weighs 140 pounds.
  • Participation in the special event is limited to 50 children in each session.
  • Tickets will be given to the first 100 children who register for the Summer Reading Program and may be reserved by calling the library at 458-6510 or signing up at the library or through Facebook.
  • Tickets will be distributed 15 minutes before each session to those who have registered.
